2012 Summer High School Graduation

Graduating students must arrive at 4:30 p.m. Ceremony to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Who

Seniors who have been cleared by summer counselors and their home schools to graduate; this may be determined as late as July 13, 2012.  Summer High School Counselors are doing their best to determine who has enough credits to graduate.  If you go through the line and do not have enough credits to graduate, then your diploma will be held by your high school until you complete the required credits.

When

Thursday, July 26, 2012 — Because of the increased number of graduates this summer, it is necessary to have two commencement ceremonies so that each students may invite seven (7) guests. Guest tickets may be picked up from your summer Counselor beginning July 23, 2012.

2:30 PM Ceremony

Graduates of Albuquerque, Amy Biel, Atrisco Heritage, Cibola, DATA, Del Norte, eCADEMY, Eldorado, Freedom, Highland, La Cueva, and New Futures High Schools. Graduates must arrive at 1:00 PM for rehearsal.

6:00 PM Ceremony

Graduates of Manzano, Rio Grande, Sandia, School on Wheels, Valley, Volcano Vista, and West Mesa High Schools. Graduates must arrive at 4:30 p.m. for rehearsal.

Note: Graduates must attend the rehearsal or they can't participate in the graduation ceremony.

What to Wear

  • Gentlemen: wear a white shirt with collar and tie, dark pants (no jeans), dark socks, dark shoes.
  • Ladies: wear a dress or nice pants, dark shoes with heels that you can walk well in.
  • Both: Get your cap and gown soon.

Getting Your Cap and Gown

Go to Campus Specialties, 1529 Eubank NE Ste. B (map), phone: 275-9357.  (In between constitution and Indian School on the west side of Eubank)

Store Hours

  • Through June 29: Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Through June 30: Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Closed: Sundays, Mondays, and all of July (with the exception of July 25-26, in which they'll be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.)

Cost of Cap and Gown

If you’ve already paid for a gown this spring, they’re holding it for you. If you DID NOT yet pay for one, you need to hustle over there; they have limited sizes and limited “extras” available. Have $45.00 in cash, money order, or cashier’s check. NO PERSONAL CHECKS are accepted. You will get a gown in your home school colors.

Who Can Attend the Ceremony

Space is limited—your counselor will distribute guest tickets; the number you receive will be determined by the number of graduates.

Ceremony Rehearsal

You must attend the rehearsal for your ceremony (see the times) on July 26, 2012.

If you arrive late, you will not be able to participate!
