2016 PBS Kids Writers Contest

The New Mexico PBS KIDS Writers Contest will engage kids, parents and teachers with tools

Join New Mexico PBS and Encourage Kids To Tap Their Inner Author With The

2016 PBS KIDS Writers Contest!

New Mexico PBS is encouraging early elementary-aged students to stretch their creative wings by hosting the PBS KIDS Writers Contest in Central and Northern New Mexico. The contest is supported by local on-air promotion, robust online assets, public relations and the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County (ABC) Public Libraries.

With a limited number of sponsorships available, your support of this successful program will make an impression with parents and educators.  The campaign’s 360° approach will carry your message of support for literacy and education throughout our community.

This educational campaign empowers kids to use their unique voices and build literacy skills by writing and illustrating their very own stories. Each child’s participation is recognized with a certificate, and creators of the winning entries will attend a special awards ceremony in August.

The New Mexico PBS KIDS Writers Contest will engage kids, parents and teachers with tools such as:

  • Contest materials will be available at 17 ABC Library branches and downloadable at www.newmexicopbs.org
  • Writing workshops at ABC Libraries and Summer Programs
  • Supporting online resources at nm.pbslearningmedia.org
  • On-air promotion during New Mexico PBS’s daily schedule of children’s programming
  • Press, Publicity and Social Media

The contest runs May through July with judging and an Awards Ceremony in August.
