Password Reset Site

Beginning on February 19, all APS employees will be asked to use a 10-character or longer password to access computers, email, Lawson, TIENet, and the Service Desk. Learn more about these changes >>

Here's how to change your password TODAY:

Once you have Edited your Profile and Changed your Password, you'll be able to RESET your password and UNLOCK your account in the future.


STEP ONE:
EDIT MY PROFILE at pwreset.aps.edu

You need to set up three simple security questions in order to use pwreset.aps.edu in the future. Also, you must know your current email password in order to set up the site so you can come back when you have forgotten it or need to change it.  Here's how to edit your profile and set up your security questions:

  1. Using a web browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari, visit http://pwreset.aps.edu
  2. Click on Edit my Profile
  3. Type your email username without the "@aps.edu"
  4. Type your email password
  5. Make sure the Domain reads APS
  6. Click Logon
  7. Select one of the security questions from the dropdown list, and type an answer
  8. Select another security question and type another answer
  9. Type your own security question and your own answer. This should be something that you'll easily remember in the future.
  10. Click Update.
  11. Cilck Return to Main Menu now.

Congratulations! Your profile has been created. You can now change your password, and use your security questions to unlock your account if you get locked out in the future.


STEP TWO: CHANGE your password

WARNING: Make sure you have created your security questions in “Edit my Profile” before you continue!!

  1. Using a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox, visit http://pwreset.aps.edu
  2. Click Change my Password
  3. Type your email username without the "@aps.edu"
  4. Type your email password
  5. Make sure the Domain reads APS
  6. Click Logon
  7. Click the radio button next to Enter, and then type your password twice.

      • Requirements:

 

      • The password must be a minimum of 10 characters, using letters and/or numbers.
      • Passwords should contain upper and lower case letters and at least one number.
      • Use letters and numbers only.  NO SPACES and NO SPECIAL CHARACTERS (i.e. @#$%).
        No special characters
        • Passwords must be changed every 90 days.  Set a reminder on your Outlook Calendar, including these password requirements.
        • Passwords are CASE SENSITIVE.
    1. Click Reset Password.

Congratulations! You've changed your password.

Now, log off your computer and back on to your computer to ensure that your new password sticks. Wait 15 minutes before logging in.



As needed: RESET your password

You've forgotten your password, and are locked out. Here's how to reset your password.

Make sure you have created your security questions in “Edit my Profile” before you continue:

  1. Visit http://pwreset.aps.edu
  2. Click Reset my Password
  3. Type your email username without the "@aps.edu"
  4. Click logon
  5. Answer the security questions you set up. Be sure to click Continue between each question
  6. Choose whether to have the system generate a password for you, or to set up your own
    1. To have the system generate one for you, take note of the word in the box next to the Generate Password button. This will be your new password. If you don't like it, click the Generate Password button to get a different one. When you find one you like, click Reset Password.
    2. To set up your own, click the radio button next to Enter, and then type your password twice.
    3. Click Reset Password

Congratulations, your password is now changed.

  1. Visit http://pwreset.aps.edu
  2. Type your email username without the "@aps.edu"
  3. Click Logon
  4. Answer the security questions you set up. Be sure to click Continue between each question.
  5. Click Return to Main Menu now

Congratulations, your account is now unlocked. You should be able to log in to your account now.
