Sherra Youberg, Seven Bar ES

Sherra Youberg is retiring from her second career as an elementary teacher after 16 years of service, with 36 years in education.

Her retirement celebration is from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, in the library at Seven Bar Elementary, where she has taught a first/second grade class since 2001.

Youberg started her second career in education as an intern at Whittier in 1999, and later interned at Sierra Vista, where she began team teaching a first/second grade combination class.

She plans to travel and spend time with her husband and family after she retires.

“Sherra has been a valuable role model, mentor, grade-level chair, SAT chair and friend,” said Rachel McDaniel, a second grade teacher at Seven Bar. “She will be missed by staff and students whom she has touched in her career.”
