Sandi Thomassen, Los Ranchos ES

— filed under:

April 19, 2012

Sandi Thomassen is retiring from Los Ranchos Elementary after teaching for 37 years. She began her career tutoring students before deciding Los Ranchos would be home for the duration of her career. She has taught the children of former students and has established a legacy of learning that goes along with her philosophy that children can and do learn despite any level of development or disability.

We will miss her kind nature, the vast knowledge she has about the Los Ranchos community and her dedication to the families whom she nurtured and cared for. Sandi was instrumental in developing the Senior Citizen I Know Contest and ran it for many years. Many students she had over the course of her career won the contest.
