Roger Garcia, Student Transportation Services

Roger Garcia of Student Transportation Services retires after ten years with the district.  Prior to that he spent 31 years as the President and CEO of Saavedra School Bus Company.  He started out as a school bus driver and mechanic in 1970.  He drove more than 850,000 miles accident free while driving a bus.  He says his mentor was the late Dr. J. Patrick Garcia, former director of APS Student Transportation Services.

Roger gives special thanks to Raquel Reedy, Diane Kerschen, Ruben Hendrickson, Royce Binns, all of the Student Transportation Services Staff, APS School Bus Contractors, Dr. Brad Winter, and Costa Pavlakos.

He says he will miss working with all the APS administration, school principals, school bus contractors, and school bus drivers and attendants.  He will not miss getting up at 2 a.m. to perform snow watch duties.

Roger says Casinos here I come, of course after he finishes his honey do list.
