Retirement: Mary Ann Stone

After 32 years in education, Mary Ann Stone is retiring effective July 1.  Her first two years of teaching were as a physical education teacher in Senegal, West Africa as a member of the Peace Corps.

After earning a master’s degree in special education from UNM, she worked at McCollum Elementary. After earning an education specialists degree in administration, she worked as an assistant principal at both Wherry and Hawthrone elementaries. For the past 11 years, she has worked as director of Project MORE, New Teacher Support and finally as a math liaison with the Special Education Learning Disabilities Unit.
