Letha Oman, Chelwood ES Principal

After a long career with APS, Letha Oman retired on Dec. 19.

Her retirement celebration will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, in the atrium at Chelwood Elementary, where she had been principal for the past several years.

Ms. Oman began her teaching career at Los Ranchos Elementary, then moved to Lew Wallace Elementary. Over the years, she taught kindergarten, third, fourth and fifth grades.

She was an assistant principal at Hodgin and Hubert Humphrey elementaries.

She was a principal at San Antonito, McCollum, Los Ranchos and Chelwood elementaries.

When asked what she will miss the most, Ms. Oman said, "The children and the amazing staff."
