Leslie Cork, Van Buren MS

Leslie Cork will be retiring from APS at the end of May.  She has worked at Van Buren Middle School as a special education teacher for 18 years. In addition, she has been involved in many middle school initiative programs, tutoring, drama club, MESA as well as being the union representative for her school. Her incredible ability to connect with students and her continual willingness to help others will be sorely missed.

Leslie has a master's degree in special education. She is highly qualified in language arts and has used her talents in storytelling, drama and writing to motivate her students. Her incredible sense of humor and ability to rewrite song lyrics to fit any occasion has amused her colleagues for years.

In her retirement, Leslie will have the time to spend with her husband Chris, her children and grandchildren.
