Kathy Gonzales, Navajo ES EA

Kathy Gonzales, educational assistant at Navajo Elementary, is retiring after 29 and a half years working with APS! Kathy joined APS in 1984 and started out by making sure all of the students had full bellies. She spent the next few years with her days divided between 5th graders and 1st graders in dual language classrooms. In 1991 she moved into her sweet spot, kindergarten, and she got to help all the little 5 year olds figure out the funny world of school.

Kathy will start out her relaxing retirement by her loving husband taking her to navigate the open waters – a cruise to Alaska is in her near future. After embarking in a little TLC with her hubby, Kathy can’t wait to catch up on her sleep. She looks forward to camping, fishing, relaxing with her friends and family. When she needs the escape from all of that – she will focus on her arts & crafts and her amazing cakes.

Navajo Staff would like to invite all of her colleagues, friends, and family to celebrate her joint retirement on May 14 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the cafeteria: 2936 Hughes Road SW.
