John Penery, Corrales ES

After 27 years of teaching, John Penery is retiring from APS. He spent his first three years as a teacher of the gifted at Whittier ES. He then taught at Rio Rancho ES for four years, and has spent the last 20 years teaching at Corrales Elementary.

What John will probably be remembered for most is his work as a "Wrinkle Writer". For the past 16 years, John has used creative drama with his students, and each class has written and performed an original play.

Best wishes to you, John.
