Gabe Mora, Los Padillas ES

Gabe Mora, a bilingual/ESL resource teacher, will retire after 17 years of service with APS. Mora spent the past 13 years at Los Padillas Elementary after beginning his APS career at Mission Avenue Elementary.

At Los Padillas, he provided support to both classroom teachers and students as a resource teacher, as well as being a strong link and liaison between the school and its Spanish-dominant community. Always an advocate for students, he led the school's student council for years, teaching students leadership skills and providing them opportunities to lead the school in fundraising with Pennies for Patients for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and in raising funds for field trips and other items for the school.

He also helped them show our Los Padillas pride, participating in the South Valley Pride Day Parade. Most enjoyable was organizing Dia de Hispandad, Festival de Cultura and other community involvement. It has been an honor and his pleasure to work with parents and the South Valley community.
