Barby Hearon Woods, Cleveland MS

Barby Hearon Woods, an APS alumnus of Zia Elementary, Jefferson Junior High and Highland High School is retiring this May.

She began her teaching career at Zuni Elementary School in 1996 and moved to Cleveland Middle School in 2000. Barby taught 8th grade math and technology to all grade levels before becoming the Instructional Coach in 2007.

Her retirement plans? “Avoid, at all costs, getting up at 6 a.m. on a Monday morning!” Other plans include working on 3D art, walking her basset hound, Martha, and volunteering. She is ready for any and all new adventures coming her way.
