Art Sheinberg, Albuquerque HS

Art Sheinberg is retiring after teaching music in APS for 37 years. Described as "one-of-a-kind" by a colleague, Sheinberg conducted orchestras at Albuquerque and Valley high schools and Washington Middle School.

Following his final concert May 3, AHS students past and present surprised him with a "Top Secret" tribute concert. They performed a piece Sheinberg wrote, in a scene reminiscent of the film "Mr. Holland's Opus."

His students and colleagues will miss him, but wish him well.
