Annette Smith, Jefferson Middle School

Annette Smith, an educational assistant at Jefferson Middle School, plans to retire at the end of the school year.

She was hired by APS in the fall of 1990. Her first job was at McCollum Elementary.  She spent a year at Sombra Del Monte Elementary, then moved to Jefferson Middle School, where she has been since 1995.

Smith went back to school in 1998 to finish her bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico.

She plans to celebrate her 65th birthday as a retiree in August.
