Taylor Middle School Teacher Honored as a State Teacher of the Year Finalist

Lisa Todd earned award as a district teacher of the year from APS.

Lisa Todd has been named District Teacher of the Year for 2013, representing Albuquerque Public Schools, by the New Mexico chapter of the National State Teachers of the Year.

Todd, who teaches math at Taylor Middle School, was one of eight district finalists for State Teacher of the Year recognized this week at a luncheon attended by education Secretary-designate Hanna Skandera and APS Superintendent Winston Brooks. A teacher from Las Cruces won the state award.

An 8th grade teacher, Todd also won a Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2012.
