Manzano Mesa Gets Mini-Grant for Homework Diner

Manzano Mesa Elementary School Principal Peggy Candelaria and the Community School Coordinator Deanna Cook accepted a $1,000 micro-grant from ABQ Sprout for the school's homework diner. The award money will go to help support the family homework help program held at the school every Monday night. Families register and then come and eat a home-cooked dinner together from 5:30-6 p.m. Following dinner, teachers from all grade levels are available to help parents learn how to help their children with homework.
