Madison Middle School Teacher Named 2012 Professional of the Year
Linda Hansen is recognized by the New Mexico Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

Linda Hansen has been named 2012 Professional of the Year by the New Mexico Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Hansen, who teaches family and consumer sciences at Madison Middle School, is a longtime member of NMAFCS and serves on its board of directors. She began her career as a special education teacher, but has a degree in family and consumer sciences and has been teaching the subject for 18 years.
At Madison, Hansen created the Coffee Shop restaurant. The eighth-grade students who take her foods course work there, cooking and serving. They prepare at least one meal each quarter for school staff and community members.
Hansen also helps develop curriculum as a member of the Association of Career and Technical Education.
