EHS Principal Honored by Music Educators Association

Eldorado High School Principal Martin Sandoval has been named the 2012 New Mexico Music Educators Association administrator of the year.

The award is made annually to an outstanding school administrator who has demonstrated support for and commitment to high-quality music education programs in their school.

Among the criteria for winning the award is a strong music program at the administrator’s school. Eldorado’s award-winning bands, choirs and orchestra have been recognized at the state and regional level.

“The performing arts are vital to our students’ overall education,” Sandoval said. “I’m honored to receive this award and appreciate the commitment and dedication of the EHS community to our music programs.”

Sandoval will be recognized at association’s annual luncheon in January.

The purpose of the New Mexico Music Educators Association is to promote the advancement of music education through public, private, and parochial schools and other educational institutions of New Mexico.
