PNM Power Camp Taking Applications

The hands-on summer camps are for seventh graders who are interested in math and science. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 25.

Applications are now being accepted for this summer's PNM Power Camps. The hands-on, full-day, one-week camps are for students going into the seventh grade who are interested in and possess strong skills in math, science and energy.

Students qualify if:

They are entering the seventh grade in the 2014-15 school year and currently attend an APS public or APS charter school

  • They can provide their own transportation and commit to attend each day of camp during the assigned week
  • They have a strong interested in science and math and want to have fun in a hands-on environment
  • They have at least a B average in science and/or math
  • They want to learn more about energy.

If your child meets these qualifications, fill out the application and return it to your school counselor. Only 40 students per camp location will be chosen at random.

Lottery outcomes will be sent to parents by email no later than May 15.

Camp Dates & Locations

  • Session A: June 16-20, Manzano High School
  • Session B: July 23-27, Atrisco Heritage Academy
  • Session C: July 7-11, West Mesa High School
  • Session D: July 14-18, Eldorado High School

Transportation is not included. Special education accommodations are not available. Lunches are not provided.

Activity Fees

Fees are on a sliding scale:

  • $50 full
  • $25 for students who qualify for reduced-price meals
  • $12.50 for students who qualify for free meals
  • Limited scholarships are available.
