Message to Employees from Dr. Winter

"I’m invigorated by all of the great work that’s happening in our schools and across the district."

Dear Colleagues,

I’ve been back at work for almost a week now feeling both humbled and invigorated. I’m humbled by the faith the Board of Education showed in naming me the Interim Superintendent of Albuquerque Public Schools. I assured board members that I will keep things running smoothly during this time of transition. It’s a promise I make to you as well.

I’m invigorated by all of the great work that’s happening in our schools and across the district. Teachers are teaching, kids are learning, administrators are guiding, staff is supporting. I feel fortunate to work alongside such a great group of people. It reminds me of why I got into public education two decades ago and why I was willing to hang up the fishing pole – at least for a little while  – to help keep the district on track.

I’ll be out in the schools and the community witnessing firsthand all of your hard work. I look forward to talking to you, hearing your concerns, listening to your suggestions. In the meantime, you’re welcome to get in touch with me. The best way to reach me is at superintendent@aps.edu.

Here’s to a great year, APS! Thanks for all you do.

 Brad Winter, Interim Superintendent
