APS Medicaid Enrollment Open House

Healthier students are more successful students.

Albuquerque Public Schools is sponsoring a free Medicaid enrollment ‘Open House’ event, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Alice and Bruce King Educational Complex located at 6400 Uptown Blvd NE. in Suite 380 West. This event will include enrollment and assistance with Medicaid and other resources such as SNAP, TANF and LIHEAP. APS Medicaid Office and First Nations Healthsource will be on hand to assist.

In addition to free insurance enrollment, health education for families, fun activities for kids and parents, drinks and snacks, bilingual enrollment, and information about other resources will be available for families and students in need. Healthcare enrollment experts will be on hand to enroll families or individuals in most insurance plans and answer questions and provide emergency cards to both adults and kids (some conditions apply). “Open enrollment” for Federal Health Insurance officially ended on Dec. 15, 2017. We highly encourage all APS families and staff to attend if you are still uninsured and/or struggling financially.

In order to expedite the enrollment individuals should bring:

  • proof of citizenship
  • immigration status or tribal enrollment
  • a photo ID
  • proof of residency
  • proof of income
  • proof of household size.
  • current insurance information
  • recent unpaid medical bills

Non-citizens may be eligible as well. For re-certification, only new proof of income along with a picture I.D. is required.
