APS Begins Using Online Tool for Reserving Facilities

FS Direct will make it possible to centrally manage schedules and monitor district-wide facility rental requests.

Beginning second semester, APS will use a new on-demand, web-based facility use scheduling tool for managing education facility rental requests, tracking event schedules and accounting for usage expenses. Called FS Direct, the tool has the capability to centrally manage schedules and monitor district-wide facility usage which is vital to maintaining a safe, available and fiscally responsible resource to accommodate both district and community needs. FS Direct is a component of School Dude, an online tool the district uses to request work orders for maintenance and repairs at schools and other buildings.

A link to FS Direct will be available after the first of the year on the APS website.

Building usage forms will no longer be accepted after Jan. 7, 2013, except from community groups with limited or no computer access.

Instructions for using FS Direct are outlined in the Facility Scheduling Instructions booklet provided to principals, department heads and building supervisors in December. It is recommended that schools and departments reserve and review events to avoid conflicts with outside organizations that can begin requesting APS facilities online on Jan. 7.

Support is available through the School Dude Client Center at 1-877-868-DUDE (3833) or For questions regarding the FS Direct system set up as it relates to APS district policies and procedures, email Sandra Lente at
