All Staff Salaries to be Posted on APS Website

The district will post more information about employees, including salaries, on its website beginning tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 4.

Included on the APS website will be each employee’s name, position title, school or work location, and annual salary. The salary posted will not include differentials for duties like coaching or overtime pay.

“The state Legislature last year approved the Sunshine Portal Transparency Act, which in July 2012 will require all schools in New Mexico to make budgets, salary schedules and policies, available on the state’s ‘sunshine portal,’” said APS Superintendent Winston Brooks.

Employee salary information was already available to anyone who asked for it under the NM Inspection of Public Records Act and the district had been providing the salary information to anyone who asked for it to comply with the public records act.

Information about staff included in the “Employee Information” will be updated twice each year, once in January and again in July. If an employee sees a mistake on their title, work location, or salary, they should contact their employee records specialist in Human Resources so that the information can be corrected.
