Student Transfers

Information about how to submit a transfer request in order to switch schools.

Students are assigned to a school based on their address.

Which school are you assigned to?

If you want to submit a request to transfer your student to a different school, you'll need to fill out a transfer request form.

Request a Transfer

2011-2012 School Year
(Current School Year)

To request a transfer for this school year (2011-2012), you must call the APS Transfer Office at 855-9050 or 855-9040.

2012-2013 School Year
(Next School Year)

Transfer requests for next school year (2012-2013) will be accepted beginning February 1, 2012. Transfer Requests may be submitted using one of two ways:

  1. Online Transfer Request Form
    An online transfer request form will be available on this website beginning February 1, 2012.
    or
  2. Paper Transfer Request Form
    A paper transfer request form for 2012-2013 will be available beginning February 1, 2012. Copies of the form may be obtained at the APS Transfer Office and completed forms may be submitted to the APS Transfer Office at 6400 Uptown Blvd., Albuquerque.

How Transfers Work

Transfers are granted based on the space available in a school or program. We use a random selection process and priority system that is in compliance with state and federal regulations.
