College & Career High Students Share Their Unique Schooling Experiences

The first students at the magnet school located on the CNM campus talk about this innovative learning environment.

College & Career High School

The dual-credit APS high school located on the main campus of CNM allows students to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a two-year college degree, certificate or credits towards a bachelor's degree.

Rachel Kline, 11th Gradercchs student rachel

My name is Rachel Kline. I am a junior and I am now going to the College and Career High School. I play softball as a hobby at Manzano High School. I love the College and Career High School (CCHS) because it allows me to get a head start in my degree. I want to become a special education teacher (leaning towards autism specific). I enjoy the classes I am taking and love the new experiences. It takes a lot of time management and dedication to do high school, college and sports at the same time, but I don't regret it because I will be ahead in my education.

Justin Johnson, 11th GraderJustin 2

As a CCHS student, I love the convenience of getting out of my high school classes at 10:20 a.m. It let's me have options when choosing my college classes! Even with my college classes, my latest day at school is 1:15 p.m. This gives me more time for work and doing things around the house.

Deborah McCabe, 10th Gradercchs student

Becoming a student here at College & Career High School has been one of my greatest decisions. I am getting ahead in my education and being able to create my future. The environment of the school speaks for itself. This school would be a perfect choice for any student that is a risk taker, hard worker, and who's motivated to do well in school.

Sarah Dadey, 10th GraderSARAH 2

Hi! I'm Sarah and I am currently a College & Career High School (CCHS) student. CCHS was such an amazing opportunity for me. I was able to go to a school where I felt accepted for wanting to go to school. It was really hard for me to make "true friend" at my old school. I was a misfit but this school made it so I can be a puzzle piece to a perfect puzzle. #ChangeYourPathToday
