Students, families and community members will be planting a small fruit tree orchard to compliment the Kirtland Elementary School community garden.

Volunteers are greatly welcomed!

The event will not only support and bring awareness to community gardens, but is also focused on Lights On After School.  Lights on After School, a national initiative to bring awareness and support for after school programming.

When:  Saturday, November 8th - 9:00 to noon

Where:  Kirtland Elementary School (near Portable 4/5)

The orchard has been made possible through generous donations from Kirtland ES Join A School partner Fast Park and Relax, and from Jericho Nursery.  Other critical support has been provided by Maria Marquez, the Site Facilitator of the Kirtland Korner after school program.

Volunteers and support for the Kirtland Community Garden are welcomed year round.
