2013 Graduation Ceremonies

Albuquerque Public Schools has scheduled high school graduations for the class of 2013 during the week of May 13-18. The comprehensive high school graduations will be held at Tingley Coliseum at Expo New Mexico (map), as they have been for the past few years, but they will start an hour earlier than in the past. Graduations will be at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. during the week and at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Graduation ceremonies for APS schools of choice (alternative and magnet high schools) will be held once again at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (map). The Career Enrichment Center's Nurse Pinning Ceremony will be at the UNM Continuing Education Conference Center.

Nex+Gen Academy, an APS technology magnet school, will graduate its first class at 1 p.m. Monday, May 13. It not only will be the first class from nex+Gen to graduate, but also the first APS class of 2013.

The final class to get its diplomas will be from Atrisco Heritage Academy, which holds its ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Tingley.

Below are the dates for the 2013 graduation ceremonies.

Parking Information

Tingley Coliseum (map)

General parking can be accessed through Gate 7 located on Lomas and Gate 8 located on Louisiana.

Please be aware the far right-hand lanes eastbound on Lomas and southbound on Louisiana will be restricted to right turns only upon entering and exiting Gate 7 and Gate 8.

Handicap parking by permit only will be available in the Pavilion Parking Lot accessed through Gate 3 located on San Pedro and Copper (must have handicap parking permit to access lot)

National Hispanic Cultural Center
General parking is available on the north side of the building.

Safety Tips

The following items will not be permitted into the graduation ceremony:

  • Food or drinks (including bottled water)
  • Balloons
  • Signs
  • Noisemakers (whistles, loudspeakers, foghorns, etc.)
  • No vases (floral arrangements in glass containers)

Guests wanting to bring bags for diapers, cameras, or medical needs will be searched before entering the building.

Event coordinators will be available at the event to guide guests and answer questions. Security will be present in the event parking lots.
