Newcomer Services

APS seeks to serve all students and communities equitably. Newcomers to APS refers to students who are new the U.S. and come from a non-English speaking country. These immigrant students are often refugees, asylum-seekers or are under other immigration statuses. Some of these students fall under the category of "Students with limited or interrupted formal education" or SLIFE for short. SLIFE students often come from war torn countries and have been forced to leave their homes due to refugee like situations.
