Students Can Get Free Flu Shots at School

Learn how you can protect your child against the flu!

Some APS students will be able to get a flu shot at school thanks to the School Kids Influenza Immunization Project (SKIIP) sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Health and the New Mexico Immunization Coalition.

  • No need to take off work
  • No need to make a doctor's appointment
  • No co-pay
  • All kids qualify -- insurance or no insurance

Permission slips will be sent home for completion by the parent/guardian. If you are interested in your child receiving the flu vaccine at school, simply return the completed form to your school nurse.

Here is a list of clinics that have been scheduled so far this school year. Some have already taken place and others still need to be scheduled, so check with your school nurse. For more information call 272-3032.

If your school isn't hosting a clinic or it's already occurred, it is recommended that you visit your primary care provider or the public health office to get a flu shot.
