WMS Trailer Plays Before Star Wars in Rio Rancho Theaters

The trailer, created by the Washington Middle School FilmKids, won honors in a statewide competition.

A movie trailer created by film students at Washington Middle School is playing before all showings of the new Star Wars movie at theaters in Rio Rancho.

The trailer, titled "#WW3 Little Hackers: Weapons of Mass Distraction" was created by the WMS FilmKids under the direction of teacher Dominic Pettine (who also stars in it). The trailer took first place for middle schools in a state-wide Sci-Fi film trailer competition hosted by the Rio Rancho Arts Commission and Premiere Cinemas.  

The film also took second place overall, beating out many high schools and charter schools.  

The students also got a private screening of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
