Wilson, Grant Middle Schools Present Student Films at a Viewing on June 24

The films were created through the Youth Development, Inc./Elev8 program and Mi Voz.

June 21, 2012

Wilson and Grant middle school students will debut films they created as part of the YDI/Elev8 program at a special viewing at 4 p.m., Sunday, June 24, at YDI Wool Warehouse Theater, 100 Roma NW.

Working with Mi Voz, students in the YDI/Elev8 extended-day program at the two schools put their creative skills to the test and are presenting their work to the public.

The Wilson students’ comedy/horror film, entitled “The Rubber Chicken Killer,” is about a crazed student who kills using a rubber chicken: Alfredo runs for help as he’s chased through the school.

Grant students also created a comedy called “Social Chaos:” A down-and-out teenager tries to fit in with the different social groups at her school.

The showing also includes a film by students at a Laguna Pueblo middle school.
