Teaching Students through Math

Deborah Natzke of Wherry ES is the Pepsi/Foundation Teacher of the Month

In Deborah Natzke’s class at Wherry Elementary, lessons revolve around how students learn math.  She says it is all about career readiness, because math is a part of all subjects taught including reading and writing,  Natzke is being recognized as the Pepsi/APS Education Foundation’s Teacher of the Month.

In Natzke’s class, students learn math skills through large and small group lessons. They play games, use technology and learn from each other.  Differentiating her daily lessons is something that sets Ntzke apart, said Principal Rhonda McGee.

This is the sixth year that Pepsi and the APS Education Foundation have honored a teacher of the month.
