Roswell in our Thoughts & Prayers

A message from Superintendent Winston Brooks about the school shooting in Roswell.

January 14, 2014

As we await more information on the tragic shooting at a middle school in Roswell, our thoughts and prayers are with the students, staff and families of Berrendo Middle School and with the residents of our sister city. I’ve reached out to the Roswell superintendent to let him know we stand ready to support his school community in any way we can.

Whenever there are acts of violence at a school, we as educators and parents can’t help but hold our own children a little closer as we feel for those who are hurting. These incidents create a high level of anxiety. I can’t emphasize enough that student and staff safety is always a top priority in Albuquerque Public Schools.
