Rock Your Mocs

Governor Bent Elementary School students took part in the annual Rock your Mocs global celebration during Native American Heritage Month.

Students at Governor Bent Elementary School took part in the Rock Your Mocs global celebration of Indigenous cultures in mid-November.

The annual event was founded right here in New Mexico to unite Native American, Aboriginal, First Nations, Alaskan Native, and Indigenous Peoples.

A drum and dance group, which included the father of three Governor Bent students, performed during the event. The three students also performed along with their mother and several other students from APS elementary schools and the Native American Community Academy.
