Non-Profit Youth Groups Encouraged to Apply for $500 Bernalillo County Clean-up Grants

Applications for the New Mexico Clean and Beautiful program are due Friday, Sept. 21.

School clubs, sports teams and other youth groups can earn $500 while helping to clean up their neighborhoods and other littered areas around Bernalillo County. 

Non-profit youth groups are encouraged to apply for $500 grants as part of Bernalillo County’s participation in the New Mexico Clean and Beautiful program. The deadline to apply is Sept. 21. 

Ten groups will be awarded a $500 grant. Applicants will be judged on several factors, including number of youth participating, the type of clean-up planned, and how the money will be used. 

Awardees will have until Oct. 31 to complete their beautification projects.  Supplies such as trash bags and T-shirts will be provided by the county.
