Native American Graduates Honored

Several students earned Service Learning and Bilingual seals.

Hundreds of Native American students from across the district were honored at the annual Native American Graduating Seniors Banquet a few weeks ago. Sponsored by the APS Indian Education Department, the seniors from 19 traditional and magnet schools across the district had an opportunity to celebrate their high school success and the next chapter in their life's journey.

“I was honored to be a part of this very special event for our Native American students who celebrated where they come from and what they want to do after high school as well as the special people who have had an impact on their lives," said Superintendent Raquel Reedy.

Nine students were recognized for earning a Service Learning Seal, seven for earning the Bilingual Seal and others for academic and athletic achievement.
