Manzano Access, Parking Disrupted by Gas Company Project

Lomas between Juan Tabo and Wilson Stadium will be reduced to one lane in both directions beginning Oct. 27.

Between Oct. 27 and Nov. 14, Lomas Boulevard between Juan Tabo and Loyola Place -- just west of Chelwood Park Boulevard – will be reduced to one lane of traffic in both eastbound and westbound lanes. This section of Lomas Boulevard is where Manzano High School is located.

All drivers should proceed slowly through the construction area to ensure the safety of students.

Students and parents should allow extra time in the morning to reach the school before classes begin.

Commuters not dropping off or picking up students may want to want to avoid this section of Lomas Boulevard altogether. Possible alternative routes are eastbound and westbound Constitution to the north and Copper Avenue to the south.

During the construction, the parking lot on the west side of the school will be closed to all traffic. However, the parking lot will be open for voter parking only on Election Day on Nov. 4.

During the construction, students should park in the parking lot on the east side of Manzano near Wilson Stadium. This same parking also is where parents should drop off and pick up their students before and after school. The parking lot is accessible both from eastbound and westbound Lomas Boulevard as well as from an entrance on the east side at Chelwood Park Boulevard and Roma Avenue.

Additionally, the sidewalk on the south side of Lomas between Manzano and Juan Tabo Boulevard will be closed during construction. Students should cross Lomas ONLY by using the existing crosswalk in front of Manzano to access the sidewalk on the north side of the street.
