Knights Hold Earth Fair

Event provided education and information about environmental issues.

Students at Del Norte High School's Earth Club participated in an earth fair to bring awareness and information about environmental issues.  The club showed students how to conserve energy to protect the Earth's resources.

The district's Maintenance and Operations Energy Center provided demonstrations on photovoltaic and wind generation, solar ovens, as well as an interactive energy bike that converts kinetic energy into electricity.

"There is nothing more powerful than having students take action that makes a difference in lowering the environmental footprint in the school community," said APS Water and Energy Conservation Education Specialist Robert Lazar.
