KANW Now Offers News, Information on HD Radio

APS radio station launches NM's first HD radio news channel.

[Albuquerque, NM]— The Albuquerque Public Schools radio station KANW, 89.1 FM, has launched New Mexico’s first HD radio channel devoted to non-stop news and information programming.

KANW-HD2 will offer programming from National Public Radio, Public Radio International and American Public Media including PRI’s “The World,” “On Point,” “Tell Me More,” and “The Travis Smiley Show.”

KANW-HD2 is a subscription-free, commercial free service, noted KANW programming director Kevin Otero. “The only thing listeners need is an HD radio to tune into the broadcasts,” Otero said.

A complete program schedule and more information about HD radio are available on the KANW website at www.kanw.com.
