Horizon Campaign to Fund Projects
Schools, Teachers Encouraged to Apply for Funding
September 1, 2010
UPDATE: The deadline for applications has been extended through Friday, September 10, 2010.
The Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation has announced that district schools and teachers at all levels may apply for the 2010 Horizon Awards.
The awards, funded by the 2009-2010 Horizon Campaign, will commit between $1,500 and $5,000 to projects that are geared toward literacy, fine arts, science/technology/engineering/math and middle/high school activities projects.
“We hope to have at least a couple dozen and award-winners, and maybe even more than that,” said Foundation Executive Director Phill Casaus. “It’s our hope that we’ll be able to fund close to $100,000 in projects that will align with district educational goals.”
The program also supports individual classroom grants administered through Join-A-School.
Applications will be accepted through Sept. 10 and will be awarded later in the fall. To get a copy of the application, go to http://www.aps.edu/about-us/aps-education-foundation/documents/Horizon%20application.pdf?20100511093945.
