Highland Gets Star Treatment in Culinary Lesson

Flying Star Restaurant gives students an inside look at operations.

It was the Flying Star treatment for about a dozen Highland culinary arts students during a visit to the restaurants corporate headquarters.  Students learned how everything was made from roasting coffee to the delectable cakes.

Flying Star Executive Chef Williem Blom, gave the students a tour of the facility and put them to the test.  Students were able to make their very own carrot cake after a Blom gave a quick lesson and some inside tips.

The field trip was made possible through a partnership the restaurant has with the APS Education Foundation.
