Aztec in our Thoughts & Prayers

A message from Superintendent Raquel Reedy about the school shooting at Aztec High School in Northern New Mexico.

As we await more information on the tragic shooting at Aztec High School, our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbors to the north. I’ve reached out to the Aztec superintendent to let him know we stand ready to support his school community in any way we can.

Whenever there are acts of violence at a school, we as educators and parents can’t help but hold our own children a little closer as we feel for those who are hurting. These incidents create a high level of anxiety. I can’t emphasize enough that student and staff safety is always a top priority in Albuquerque Public Schools.
