Atrisco Heritage Hosts Family Science Day

Workshop presenters and participants are wanted for April 11 event.

Students, their parents and teachers are sought for a science, technology, engineering and math event titled “Science is Your World (Ciencia es Tu Mundo)” April 11 at Atrisco Heritage Academy High School.

The event, which is sponsored by the Jaguar STEM Club, is looking for presenters of both student-led workshops and speakers.

“There will be robotics demonstrations, presentations by the CNM Applied Technology group, the Southwest Center for Microsystems Education, shows by from the Fractal Foundation, and demonstrations and speakers,” said Valerie Kovach, who teaches at Atrisco Heritage. “The event, which is set for noon to 8 p.m., is for families and students of all ages.”

Prizes will be awarded to students for their presentations. “There also will be an award for a parent who presents with their child,” Kovach added.

The event is funded by grants from the APS Foundation Horizon program and Verizon.
