ATF/APS Reach Agreement on Salary Increases

The agreement includes a $2,000 increase to each level of the three-tier licensure minimums on the salary schedules, or a 3 percent raise, whichever amount is greater.

The Albuquerque Teachers Federation and Albuquerque Public Schools have announced a tentative agreement on salary increases for teachers as well as other support and related services personnel. The agreement includes a $2,000 increase to each level of the three-tier licensure minimums on the salary schedules, or a 3 percent raise, whichever amount is greater. This is over and above the language contained within the state budget approved by the Legislature. Both sides agreed that teachers and other educators needed higher salaries to begin in August – the first raises for them in several years.

The district and the union will continue contract talks on issues that remain unresolved. These issues will be finalized with the assistance of a federal mediator.
