APS to Host Job Fair on Wednesday, May 30

We're hiring teachers and school nurses.

Albuquerque Public Schools is hosting a job fair on Wednesday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at La Cueva High School, 7801 Wilshire Ave. NE.

The district is hiring regular and special education teachers as well as school nurses.

An hour earlier, from 9-10 a.m., the district will host a Job Placement Fair for current employees on the priority hire list and recipients of provisional contracts. That event also will be at La Cueva.

Those who plan to attend either fair should bring copies of their resume, cover letter and licenses. Interviews will be conducted onsite and jobs may be offered on the spot.

Those interested in working for the district are asked to fill out an online application before attending the job fair. To apply, go to and apply in the Applicant Pool section to the job title "Applicant Pool: Job Fair 2018" posting number #0032038.

You may also apply for specific positions of interest.

Qualifications for school nurses include:

  • A BSN or bachelor’s degree in a related health field
  • Current New Mexico RN license
  • Three years of full-time experience in a supervised clinical nursing setting
  • Current CPR certification.

If you are not a licensed teacher but are interested in becoming licensed, CNM's Alternative Licensure Program will be in attendance to answer questions about their program.

UNM's Special Education M.A. program will also be in attendance and available to answer questions.
