It's Official: Nusenda Credit Union Community Stadium

The naming rights agreement brings in money for athletic and academic programs.

Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation and Nusenda Credit Union have entered into a naming rights agreement for Albuquerque Public Schools’ Community Football Stadium.

The eight-year agreement renames the stadium Nusenda Credit Union Community Stadium. The agreement also cements a long-standing partnership between the two parties, with the goal of improving educational outcomes for the APS school district.

"This deal sends a great message about our ability to partner with businesses. And we can’t say enough about the partner whose name will soon grace this stadium – a happy place where students and families gather. A perfect place for community: Nusenda Credit Union Community Stadium," said APS Interim Superintendent Brad Winter.

“The agreement is a continuation of the seventy-nine year partnership between Nusenda Credit Union and Albuquerque Public Schools, our founding partner,” said Terry Laudick, CEO of Nusenda Credit Union. “The stadium partnership reflects our ongoing focus on improving educational achievement and demonstrates our continuing  commitment to New Mexico educators, staff, parents and students.”

"When the first game kicks off in August, you’ll see a new logo on the field and signs at the entrance and near the goal posts. Nusenda’s presence will be felt, their passion for what we do evident," said Phill Casaus, executive director of the APS Education Foundation. "We’re entering a new era in public education, one in which we need the support of our partners to make sure our kids get everything they need to learn and grow and go on to have happy and successful lives."

The naming rights agreement calls for Nusenda to pay an annual fee of $79,800 for eight years with an option for renewal, and all the proceeds are to be used for improving student success. New signage will be added to the facility later this spring. The stadium is located at 1601 Arroyo Vista Blvd. NW, near I-40 and 98th Street in Albuquerque.
