APS Hosts Summer Graduation on Monday, July 23

More than 200 students will get their diplomas during the ceremony that begins at 7 p.m. in the Kiva Auditorium.

Albuquerque Public Schools will host a summer graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. Monday, July 23, at the Kiva Auditorium.
Just over 200 of the 350 students who took summer classes and garnered the credits they need to earn a high school diploma are expected to participate in Monday's ceremony. More than 4,200 students in grades 8-12 were enrolled in classes this summer.

"The stick-with-it-ness that these students showed by taking classes and earning credits during the summer will serve them well as they begin the next chapter of their lives. Congratulations to the Class of 2018," said APS Superintendent Raquel Reedy.  

The graduation ceremony is a colorful event, with students from APS comprehensive high schools, magnet schools and charter schools wearing caps and gowns in their school colors.
Parking is $6 in the Convention Center parking lot.
