APS Hosts Meetings to Discuss School Start/End Times
District Seeks Public Input on Proposal for Next School Year
March 4, 2010
Albuquerque Public Schools will host four public meetings to gather input from parents, students, staff and the community on proposed school start and end times next school year.
There are several reasons the district is considering changing start times: a new state law, inconsistency among APS schools and research showing teenagers are more successful when they start school later in the morning.
“We realize that changing start and end times for schools impacts families and the community, which is why we are holding public hearings and encouraging parents, students, staff and the community to let us know what they think,” said APS Superintendent Winston Brooks.

- Cibola High at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 25
