    I hope that each and every one of you have had a very restful and fun summer vacation There are many new updates that I would like to share with you, however, most will be given to you at orientation. I did not want to wait until school started to share with you a great opportunity for the CTE department. In collaboration with the district and the Public Education Department we will be having a professional development workshop with counsellors and CTE teachers on September 21st from 8:00-3:30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located at 1901 University Blvd. N.E., University just south of Menaul. The objective of the workshop is to Explore Non-Traditional Careers employing the power of micro messages to improve student outcomes and to increase the enrolment, retention, performance and completion of underrepresented students in Non-Traditional Careers. For those of you who normally participate in the Non-Traditional Conference with your students, it will be on September 12th, from 8:00-1:00. In order to reserve the buses and space, please send your count of students as soon as possible. Please be reminded the count is for those who will tentatively attend including yourself. Please RSVP to Charae at 505-855-5284 no later than August 26th in order that we may have an accurate count for materials as well as space. Visits will take place January through April. Our fall 2017 admissions application will be available in mid-December. The deadline for graduating seniors to qualify for our Bridge to Success Scholarship is May 1, 2017. Please note that the Bridge Scholarship is awarded on a first-come first-served basis and the funds are expected to run out earlier than May.
